Frederick Burden was born in the district of Sculcoates in Kingston upon Hull on 14th September 1886.
He was one of a large family of children and step children.
This picture is one of only two still in existence, he is photographed in the uniform of a Sapper of the Royal Engineers, No.474500.
Florence Burden (nee Barker), was also born in the Sculcoates District of Kingston upon Hull on 22nd September 1890.
Frederick and Florence were married on 24th December 1910 at Drypool Parish Church.
Florence died on 30th August 1958 on Kings Cross Station, London.
